What is AHK-Cu?
Copper tripeptide (Copper Tripeptide-3) studied in dermal papilla and angiogenesis models.
AHK-Cu is the copper complex of alanyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine, differing from the better known GHK-Cu by a single amino acid at position one. That one methyl group is what the literature finds interesting: the 2007 Seoul National University work reported stimulation of isolated human hair follicle elongation and dermal papilla cell proliferation at picomolar to nanomolar concentrations, alongside increased VEGF and decreased TGF-beta1 output from dermal fibroblasts in vitro. Because copper peptides are supplied at higher vial masses than most research peptides, recalculate concentration for the 50 mg vial rather than carrying a figure across from a 10 mg compound. Supplied lyophilised with a batch reference. For research purposes only, not for human consumption.

How is AHK-Cu stored and handled?
Storage
Store lyophilized vials at -20°C, protected from light. Once reconstituted, refrigerate at 2-8°C and use within the recommended window.
Reconstitution
Use bacteriostatic water; add slowly down the inside wall of the vial. Swirl to dissolve, never shake. See the in-house peptide calculator for concentration (mg/ml) and syringe units (IU on a U-100 syringe).
For research use only
Not for human or veterinary consumption. Handle in accordance with your institution's laboratory safety protocols.

All research guides- What is GHK-Cu? A Plain Explanation of the Copper PeptideGHK-Cu is the copper complex of the tripeptide glycyl histidyl lysine, a sequence found naturally in human plasma. It is studied in dermal fibroblast, collagen synthesis and matrix remodelling models, where the bound copper ion is treated as part of the active species. It is supplied at high vial mass, so concentration must be recalculated rather than copied from a 10mg peptide.5 min read
- How to Store and Handle Research PeptidesLyophilised research peptides are stored in the refrigerator at 2 to 8 °C, or frozen at -20 °C for longer storage, sealed and protected from light. After reconstitution with [bacteriostatic water](/product/bacteriostatic-water-10ml) the solution is kept refrigerated, never shaken, and never refrozen.5 min read
- How to Read a Peptide COA (Certificate of Analysis)A peptide certificate of analysis shows what an independent laboratory found in one specific batch: identity confirmed by mass spectrometry, purity measured by HPLC, and the measured quantity against the labelled amount. Read it by checking the batch reference against your vial first, then the identity result, then the purity figure and the test date.6 min read

- What your vial should look likeA sealed research peptide vial normally holds a white to off-white lyophilized cake or powder under an intact stopper and crimp cap. Pre-filled pens and nasal spray kits arrive sealed, with their documented appearance on the product page. Appearance never proves identity or purity; the COA for the batch does.4 min read
